TA Services Names Well-Renowned Logistics Leader, Reo B. Hatfield II, as Vice President of Business Development

A logistics leader known for his role in ending the Hatfield–McCoy feud, Reo B. Hatfield II brings over 40 years of experience in executive management, customer service, and transportation

Nov. 12, 2020.  TA Services announces the appointment of its new Vice President of Business Development, renowned logistics leader Reo Hatfield II. Bringing over 40 years of experience in executive management and transportation logistics to TA Services, Hatfield will be primarily responsible for guiding the development and growth of the Company’s less-than-truckload brokerage services. In this role, he will work closely with Chief Executive Officer, Scott Schell.

Prior to joining TA Services, Reo Hatfield served as Vice President of the fourth largest less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier in the United States. He also previously co-founded Reo Distribution Services, Inc., where he served as the company’s President for 31 years. Under Hatfield’s leadership, Reo Distribution was named Logistics Broker of the Year in 2014 by the National Association of Small Trucking Companies. He has also taught transportation law at colleges in Virginia and Georgia and received awards for his contributions to transportation from both states. Hatfield is a graduate of the College of Advanced Transportation held at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.

Outside of the transportation industry, Hatfield is most well-known for brokering and writing the truce that ended the famous Hatfield-McCoy feud in 2003. He, along with Bo McCoy and Ron McCoy, signed the truce live on national television to an audience of 3.5 million viewers. To commemorate this historic event and symbolize forgiveness from both sides, the three men signed unfired shotguns and presented them to Governor Paul E. Patton of Kentucky, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, and President George W. Bush.

Hatfield also served in the Vietnam era as a Sergeant stationed in Seoul, South Korea. Later, he also sat on the city council in Waynesboro, Virginia for eight years. He would go on to receive a Distinguished Service Metal and other awards from the Waynesboro Police department for his service as Reserve Chief of Police.
