2022 Year in Review: What’s Most Important to Carriers?

2022 Year in Review: What's Most Important to Carriers?

So far, in our 2022 Year in Review series, we’ve covered our year of growth, industry awards and recognition, and the services we’ve expanded in our roster. Today, we’re sharing insight into our carriers’ perspectives. At TA Services, we take great pride in our carrier partner network — we only want to work with the best. And to work with the best, we need to ensure we are providing the best possible experience for truck drivers. We’re constantly improving our processes to retain the great drivers we work with today and recruit the best new drivers to join our network.

We reached out to our carrier network to understand how they are feeling and what is most important to them. Here’s a glimpse at the five topics that are most important to our road warrior partners and what TA Services does to ensure we’re creating a great carrier experience.

1. Ease of Onboarding

Ease of Onboarding, we make seamless

We want to make the process of onboarding with TA Services as seamless as possible. Those who partner with TA can easily register online — by providing necessary business information including proof of insurance — to be considered eligible to join our network and tap into a breadth of loads. Once vetted and approved by our Carrier Services team, carriers are onboarded and gain access to our easy-to-use carrier tools, including an online payment platform and load board. Drivers can even send us their daily available truck list so we can better match up loads with their available capacity. Our team is available, even after-hours and on weekends, to answer questions and provide support throughout the onboarding process and the entire relationship. We strive to make it all simple for carriers so they can focus on what they do best — moving freight safely and on time.

2. Seamless RFP Process on Contract Lanes

Contract lanes offer a win-win situation for shippers and carriers. Shippers get reliable capacity and consistent rates, while carriers get dedicated load volumes and predictable revenue streams. We work with shippers to undergo regular RFP bids to award contracts to the carriers within our network. Truck drivers are busy and looking for a seamless process. At TA Services, we think it’s important to take a personal approach to the RFP process. Drivers receive a lot of RFPs — it can be overwhelming to sort through them to find the ones that actually fit their capabilities. We take the time to get to know our carriers and their needs. That way, when an RFP comes along, we only share it with carriers we know could be the right fit. This saves our drivers time and allows us to get better RFP responses.

“We have continued to work with TA Services for over two years because of the regular freight, excellent organization and communication, and competitive rates. We are thankful to be connected with such a great company.”

3. Easy Spot Quoting

While contract lanes allow shippers to lock in capacity at a consistent rate, spot quotes are done at the individual shipment level. Spot quotes are a major part of the transportation industry, and it’s crucial to provide an easy solution for both shippers and carriers. Once again, TA Services takes a personal approach to spot quotes. We utilize technology to streamline processes and analyze both historical and market pricing data, but we also focus on building relationships with carriers to better understand their key lanes and preferences. We make it as simple as possible for our carrier partners.

4. Invoicing: Accurate and Timely Payments

TriumphPay platform for accurate payment solution

At the end of the day — no matter how much truck drivers love their job — getting paid is an essential piece of the work. Making timely and accurate payments is extremely important to carriers. At TA Services, we work to ensure our invoicing process makes it easy for carriers to get paid on time and accurately. We use the TriumphPay platform so our partners have the most flexible and accurate payment solution with multiple electronic payment options. When working with TA Services, carriers have control over how and when they get paid.

5. An Incredible and Capable Operations Team

An incredible and capable operations team

Carriers want to work with people, not companies. The team running daily operations can make or break a great experience. At TA, the people behind our business — our employees, carriers, and customers — are what matter the most to us. We focus on building meaningful long-term relationships that result in the best outcomes for everyone involved. Our operations team is dedicated to the success of our partners on the road; we strive to be the support system they need to grow their businesses. We prioritize communication and offer after-hours and weekend support so our carriers always have someone to lean on.

“I love the attitude of everyone. Always positive!!”
